Hot WiFi Antenna

Overview All New RaLink WLAN Utility Software Now Provides Soft AP Under Windows 7 32/64

  • A directional WiFi Antenna with the extraordinary ability to provide the longest range possible when installed line of sight to your router.
  • This WiFi Antenna Kit functions just like the WI-FI adapter built in to a laptop computer, but with significantly more power and range.
  • It is specifically designed for outdoor use. Designed to provide reliable high speed internet connections anytime, anywhere.

Reliably connect to your neighbor, or your office blocks away!
Excellent for; Business and Residental WiFi Links, Traveling Salesmen, Truckers, RV owners, Private Resorts, Golf Course Communities.

WiFi Antenna Simple equation 1
(Adapter output 1000mw 30dBm) + (Antenna gain of 16dBi) = (Effective power transmitted @ Antenna 46dBm) Translates to ERP of
39.8 WATTS
This is a universally accepted method of calculating Effective Radiated Power (ERP). Used throughout the entire wireless industry.
Besides it's use in WiFi, This calculation is also used by Tv & Radio Stations including the Satellite Industry, to name just a few.

                                                           WiFi Antenna ERP
Technical reference can be found at: http://www.terabeam.com/solutions/whitepapers/decibels.php

WiFi Antenna Simple equation 2
db is a log scale. Every 3 db increase, effectively doubles the power. As and example, a 46dBm antenna is 4x as powerful as a 40dBm antenna.

WiFi Antenna Simple equation 3
Adapter/Radio receiver sensitivity importance. WiFi Signals are extremely weak, and measured in negative -dBm numbers.

The lower the number, the higher the sensitivity. A more sensitive receiver has a greater ability to capture and connect to a
weak signal than a less sensitive receiver.
As an example, an adapter with a -76dBm sensitivity has 6dBm more, or 2X the sensitivity of a -70dBm receiver.

Advantages of our WiFi Antenna

  • Popular Brand/Manufacturer.
  • Full size enclosure Copper Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Antenna design. With Aluminum Reflector black plate.
  • Highly efficient "Zero-Loss" Design. **
  • Super sensitive Adapter/Receiver. Highest sensitivity Adapter/Receiver in it's class. -76dBm @11g, -92dBm @11b
  • No need for additional external amplifiers or adapters.
  • Simple USB Connection Interface.
  • No need to purchase or install expensive high signal loss coaxial cable N male to RP SMA male
  • Self-contained. Integrated 16dBi panel WiFi Antenna with 30dBm 1000mw USB adapter & 26' USB cable.
  • Easier to assemble, mount and align then a parabolic, Yagi or grid WiFi Antenna.
  • Significantly greater gain and distance than a omni-directional WiFi Antenna.
  • Directional design increases gain, and reduces frequency interference and congestion.
  • True USB 2.0 Plug-n-Play device. Laptop or Desktop.

What is "Zero-Loss" Design?
Older less efficient WiFi Antenna kits place significant distance between the USB adapter and antenna.
This method requires expensive high signal loss cable between the two devices.
As a result, the high frequency 2.4Ghz signal is not down converted and translated to USB for a considerable distance.
This high frequency signal between the antenna and adapter is attenuated as it propagates or moves, through the length of cable.
This is commonly referred to as cable loss.
Unfortunately, there is always a percentage of antenna gain sacrificed in cable loss.

How does "Zero-Loss" design resolve this issue?
The WiFi Antenna and USB adapter are integrated into one unit. This permits, virtually "Zero-Loss" between the antenna and USB adapter.
Less expensive and longer USB cable runs can be achieved with absolute minimal impact on overall performance.

Our WiFI Antenna Is Simple To Use

IMPORTANT ! Please read all of the following informationntenna

  • We ask all potential customers to evaluate their area for proximity to "Hot Spots" or acceptable and approved wireless networks, before purchasing this device. This can be achieved simply by using the existing wireless card in a laptop and walking around your area looking for "Hot Spots" or acceptable and approved networks to connect to. During your preliminary search, take notice to the locations in your area which yields the strongest signal or signals. This is important because the WiFi Antenna is directional, and once installed at your location, must be faced towards the signal source you wish to connect to.
  • This devices failure or inability to find or connect to "Hot Spots" or acceptable and approved wireless networks does not necessarily indicate a defective product.

Please remember, a significant number of factors affect transmission distance;

  • Indoor vs Outdoor, Outdoor Optimal
  • Weather
  • Line of sight / Physical obstructions
  • Transmission Mode / Configuration
  • AP or router location
  • AP or Router antenna type & gain
  • Signal output level
  • Reciever sensitivity
  • WiFi 802.11 operating band
  • Wireless congestion
  • Frequency interference
  • Encryption method

All these factors contribute to the overall quality of your wireless connection. Having optimal conditons in all these catagories is essential for reliable connections at the furthest distances with the WiFi Antenna.

The overall strength of the connection depends on the weakest link between the two devices. Please contact us for more details.

It is also important to understand, that there are factors which affect your ability to connect to wireless networks, even when they are visible and appear strong.

  • Security-Enabled Networks. Knowing the alpha-numeric key is necessary before connection can be achieved.
  • MAC Address Filtering. Unsecured networks which have MAC Address filtering enabled, will not permit you to connect unless your wireless adapter MAC address is registered with the Network administrator.
  • SSID Disabled. Most wireless access points (APs) and routers automatically transmit their network name or SSID (Service Set Identifier) into open air at regular intervals, usually every few seconds. This feature of WiFi network protocols is intended to allow clients to dynamically discover and roam between WLANs. If the network administrator disables this function, your wireless utility will not discover this signal. What you can't see, you can't connect to.
  • Critical Antenna Placement. Many networks which may have been be visible on your laptop omni-directional antenna may not be visible with this WiFi Antenna until it is positioned properly. This WiFi USB Antenna is highly directional. It transmits and receives signals from only one side of the panel. Due to this directional narrow beamwidth pattern, these WiFi Antennas must be positioned with the ABS side towards the signal source you wish to connect to. When the USB cable is pointing to the ground, the WiFI antenna is situated to receive a vertically polarized signal. Turn the WiFI Antenna 90 degrees, and it is situated to receive a horizontally polarized signal.

One Final Note

Wireless technology simplifies the sharing of network connections between multiple computers and people. Even if you don't subscribe to Internet service, you can log on to public hot-spots or to a neighbor's wireless access point to get online. However, using someone else's Internet service isn't always a good idea. It may even be illegal. Just as entering a home or business without the owner's permission is considered trespassing (even if the doors are unlocked), likewise, accessing wireless Internet connections (even open access ones) can be considered an illegal activity. At a minimum, obtain consent from the operator of any Wi-Fi access point before using their service. Read any online Terms of Service documentation carefully when signing on, and contact the owner offline if necessary to ensure compliance. Remember, unauthorized connections may be illegal, subjecting you to penalties in the form of fines and/or imprisonment.
